Comings and Goings
Hi Everyone,
I've set up this blog to share with you our wedding planning and our future marriage! Tentatively, Rick and I have set a date of October 4, 2008 to be married. I am quite excited and nervous and every other possible emotion all at the same time. I will be inheriting three beautiful step-children, Lindsay, 18; Dustin, 15; and Cory, 9.
Right now, we are planning Lindsay's Graduation Party. Stress has been at an all time high as we are preparing the house and the yard to host the party. Since many of the yearly lawn tasks have been neglected for the past three years, we've been furiously fertilizing, mulching, and putting in flowers for the past three weeks. I've planned a "Chipotle" theme for the party, hoping that I can pull off a copycat version of Lindsay's and my favorite burritos. I'll come back and post a picture of the invitation I designed for her.
Speaking of invitations, Cory just turned 9 on May 4. We had a "Rock Band" themed party and sleepover for him. 5 little guys attended, and I have to say I didn't get much sleep that night! That Sunday, we had the family over for a cookout and cake and ice cream. It just so happened that Lindsay's Elida Prom was the night of the sleepover, so we had a full driveway about 5pm with the little guys arriving, as well as Nicolle, Geoff and Jordan ready to leave for prom. Rick and I definitely enjoyed some wine that night!
And of course Dustin! He has been doing so well in track this year. Unfortunately he suffered a hamstring injury earlier in the year and missed several meets, but has done so well that he will still earn his Varsity letter (as a sophomore!) He's really looking forward to driving and having his freedom.
This summer will be a test for all of us as Lindsay will be working full time, Dustin will be driving, I'll be hanging out with Cory at home this summer and I hope it will be fun!
Back to Rick and me...we are doing wonderful. I picked out my engagement ring about a month ago and it's being made right now! (and sized-they don't generally make rings in a size 3 3/4!) I am so incredibly happy and am looking forward to everything our new life together will bring. I am so happy to say I will be marrying my best friend!
Will keep you updated,
Theresa
